Writer and Composer: Gary Walbrun. In some way, all songs are love songs – hopeful and romantic, sad or bitter, remorseful or teasing. Love comes out of nowhere to ambush us, and can just as mysteriously fade away while we are not looking. This is a song about waking up somewhere in the middle -between what once was and what no longer is. About waking up to the realization that we are not born once and forever on the day of our birth, but that life ultimately requires us, over and over again, to give birth to ourselves.

Lyrics

Long ago and far away ...
Long ago and far away ...
Can you tell me what I was supposed to say?

A little light shined in your eyes
A wounded love that slowly died
It just seemed to slip away
I don't know why.
But it's too late to worry about that now.

Alone tonight with these long gone blues
A one way street - no turning back.
I close my eyes and we fade to black.

Late last night I lie awake
The pale moon showed the path I'll take
I hear you calling me outside love's broken gate
Our winding road has stumbled to a close.

Morning comes and I have to go
I'm sorry babe, but I need to go.
Sometimes your heart knows things you don't know
But it's too late to worry about that now.
It's too late to worry about that now.
Sometimes your heart knows things you don't know
But it's too late to worry about that now.
It's too late to worry about that now
